Reopening the 2nd July 2017
The Virtual Reality Experience
During the Courant3D Festival, take this opportunity to visit the K. Dick: the first movie and virtual reality theater in the Charente region, France!
A unique place devoted to virtual reality and augmented reality experiences, as well as new technologies of immersive and interactive films. An area for digital mediation, a “Uni-VR-City” available for all.
A 360-degree immersive technology, backed by the Pôle Image Une Magie and audiovisual companies of Angoulême… An Agora of economic, cultural and philosophical development carried by the Courant3D Festival.
This project is in partnership with the Pôle Image Magelis, the Cité internationale de la bande dessinée et de l’image, Charente Informatique Diffusion, the centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée, the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, the Charente department, the Angoulême City Council and the Fabrique 3D.
VR, what is it exactly ?
The virtual reality is a technology allowing a person to be impersonated in an artificial world created digitally. The experiment is both auditive, visual and sometimes haptic (concerns the sensitivity of touch).
Today, there are virtual reality rooms in which images are projected on the floor, on the walls and on the ceiling.
Immersion can be facilitated by wearing virtual reality helmets, thus placing the stereoscopic 3D display system on the nose, in front of the eyes.
