A shaman on an Asian boat channels the soul of a drowned man to pacify the soul of the dead man, but lust and secrets are revealed that twist the solemn ceremony into a violent tragedy. The film unfolds the drama created by death, love, hatred and the transience of it all as they work their way through the vast inspiring nature, depicting their unique aesthetics that can only be captured and shown by cinematic VR.

The audience finds itself surrounded by painted architecture, based on digitized acrylic paintings by the artist group ‘The Swan Collective’. The accompanying voice over of an almighty programmer tries to convince the viewer, that s/he is in fact not a human being, but an artificial intelligence, implanted into a social media app. The audience’s memories of a life leading up to the VR experience are said to be scripted by a writing team.

The experience uses Virtual Reality’s power to take over your senses, in order to leave the audience powerless against the doings of a programmer.

I Saw the Future allows spectators to submerge themselves in a three-dimensional space echoing the futurist predictions of a visionary and humanist scholar.

It shows an immersive experience in virtual reality adapted from Denis Bajram’s work of art. Universal War One, “Quadrants Solaires” editions, 1998. “Between Saturn and Jupiter, in the heart of the United Earths Federation most thriving young states, the third United Earthes Forces fleet was keeping watch over the solar system’s outskirts. Then the WALL appeared, unfathomable, created by private corporations. Here began the First Universal War in which a squadron stands out made of daring ex-convicts”. The scenario is chosen in collaboration with the author and carries the visitor aboard a vessel around the planet Saturn. It is currently being offered to the visitors of the exhibition “It happened tomorrow – the Mirror” (“C’est arrivée demain – le Miroir”) at Chapel Saint-Louis in Poitiers until October 14th.
